Advanced Manufacturing


IHI is one of Anchor members of A*STAR – ARTC (Advanced Remanufacturing Technology Centre). We are collaborating with ARTC in various research areas: Additive manufacturing, Surface finishing, Robotics and Cutting work. Together with ARTC, IHI has completed over one hundred projects and contributed to improvement of product qualities and cost reduction, production capacity of IHI’s factories.

Robotics Management Solutions


IHI is collaborating with ARTC consortium ROS-I Asia Pacific as an industrial partner. The consortium develops to extend the advanced capabilities of ROS software to industrial relevant hardware and applications. This ROS-I technology provides advantages of reliability, flexibility, and scalability in robotics control, operation, and management. These advantages have potential to give essential benefits IHI’s logistic solution.

Carbon Solution: CO2 to SAF Technology


IHI has been strongly involved in developing innovative CO2 conversion technologies towards a carbon-neutral society on a global scale. Substantial efforts have been devoted to carbon recycling technologies based catalytic CO2 conversion to valuable chemicals. The bottleneck to efficiently convert CO2 into valuable chemicals lies in developing breakthrough catalysts. Through joint research collaboration projects with The Institute of Sustainability for Chemicals, Energy and Environment (ISCE2 – A*STAR), we are developing high-performance CO2 conversion catalysts.

The IHI SAF test rig is a small-scale test plant to demonstrate the effectiveness of our SAF production catalyst, jointly developed with ISCE2. The Test Rig was built in ISCE2 premise in Jurong island in 2025. A 5kg C5+ hydrocarbon /day scale Test Rig was designed, constructed and operated by IHIAP. Moreover, IHI have been developing the whole SAF production process towards decarbonization, including both upstream/downstream processing and further scaling up.
